Treatment for bad breath and bleedings

Poor dental health habits cause bad breath most of the time, or sometimes it may indicate an underlying disease. Bad breath can also be caused by

  • - Eating certain foods

  • - Maintaining unhealthy lifestyle habits

The clinical term for bad breath is halitosis. It can be treated and prevented at home. You can also visit a dental clinic in Dubai for check-ups.

Gum bleeding while brushing can be normal but persistent bleeding may be a sign of gingivitis or inflammation of the gums.

Gingivitis is a mild form of gum disease caused due to plaque buildup at the gumline. Signs of the disease include

  • - Swollen gums

  • - Red and irritated gums

Other causes of gum bleeding are

  • - Vigorous brushing

  • - Mouth injury

  • - Pregnancy

Aster Hospital, one of the best hospitals in Dubai has a good dental department.

Here are some of the effective bad breath treatments:

Mouth rinses and toothpaste

Plaque may cause bad breath, and using a mouth wash that kills the bacteria will prevent plaque development or remove it.

You can use a dentist-recommended toothpaste containing an antibacterial agent to prevent plaque build-up.

Treatment of dental disease

Cavity formation and gum disease can also lead to bad breath. If you have it, consult a good dentist. Cleaning and removing bacteria will help prevent or treat bad breath.

Stay hydrated

A dry mouth causes bad breath. Therefore, drink lots of water daily. In addition, you can also chew sugar-free gums that contain xylitol. They can stimulate saliva production and remove bacteria and food particles.

Brushing

You can prevent plague and remove debris by brushing twice a day. Always brush after eating, and don’t forget to clean your tongue. A tongue scraper is the best to clean the tongue.

Bacteria on the tongue are responsible for bad breath. Always rinse your mouth after a meal if you can’t brush. Rinsing will free trapped bits inside the mouth.

Try to replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months. Furthermore, floss your teeth once a day to remove food particles. An antibacterial mouth is best for rinsing and preventing bad breath.

Schedule regular dental check-ups

Visiting the dentist on a regular basis (at least twice a year) for examining the teeth or dentures can help prevent bad breath.  Always make an appointment with a good dentist.

How can you prevent gum bleeding?

Here are few tips that can help treat and prevent gum bleeding:

Say no to smoking

Smoking is linked to gum disease. According to CDC, it is the major cause of gum disease in the US. Moreover, smoking can lower the body’s immune system, making it difficult to fight off plague bacteria.

Quitting smoking can help treat and prevent gum bleeding. There are ways to quit smoking. You can consult a good doctor or psychologist to start your journey.

Vitamins

Consuming more of Vitamin D and K will prevent and heal gum bleeding faster. You can also try Vitamin D capsules.
