Advanced Cardiac Care Techniques

One of the leading causes of death is cardiovascular disease (CVD). Numerous technological developments in the cardiovascular field are occurring regularly in the medical industry. Heart patients now have access to HD IVUS for better cardiac care during PCI operations.

A minimally invasive surgical treatment called percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI or angioplasty with stent) is used to treat cardiac arteries that have been clogged due to plaque (atherosclerosis). All body organs receive oxygenated blood from the heart through arteries.

An artery that has become blocked due to atherosclerosis is opened with a tiny balloon by a surgeon using a catheter (a thin, flexible tube). After that, a surgeon inserts a tiny stent into the coronary artery using surgical equipment. To lessen the chance of the coronary artery narrowing again, doctors occasionally utilise drug-eluting stents, which are stents filled with medication and release the medication directly into the vessels. Aster Hospitals is one of the best cardiology hospitals in Dubai.

What are the indications of PCI?

A surgeon advises PCI to remove arterial atherosclerosis, or plaque build-up. Several cardiovascular disorders, including angina, are brought on by atherosclerosis, which blocks blood flow to the heart (chest pain). The surgeons advise a PCI method as a therapy for heart attack circumstances.

PCI increases blood flow in the arteries, lessens angina (chest pain caused by the heart), and enhances quality of life.

PCI procedures

PCI can be carried out by cardiologists who have specialised in operating cardiovascular system surgery. The following are the PCI steps:

A catheter is inserted into the blood vessels by the surgeon from the arm or groyne.

· The surgeon inserts the catheter into the heart through the blood vessels to the region of the restricted coronary artery with the use of fluoroscopy, a particular sort of X-ray.

· The surgeon expands a stent using a balloon tip while the catheter's tip is in a constricted artery.

· The coronary artery's stent is expanded and the plaque is compressed by the balloon tip.

· The surgeon deflates the balloon and removes it after compressing the plaque and inserting a stent. By keeping the artery open, the stent remains in place.

Common symptoms of cardiac issues

Angina, or chest pain, is the most typical symptom of coronary artery disease. Angina is a chest pain or discomfort that can be described as being heavy, pressing, throbbing, burning, full, squeezing, or severe. It can be confused for heartburn or indigestion. The shoulders, arms, neck, throat, jaw, or back may also experience angina. Visit the best cardiologist in Dubai if you experience any symptoms.

You can cut heart disease risk significantly. However, nobody would love eating only salads or running five kilometres a day when we offer lifestyle improvements. Daily, deliberate choices about your diet and exercise can lessen the strain on your heart and lower your risk of developing coronary artery disease, hypertension, and heart failure.

Your doctor can assist you in understanding changes in your numbers and in creating attainable, healthy goals.
